Frequently asked questions
What does an electricity bill contain?
An electricity bill consists of electrical energy, which you buy from an electricity supplier, and transmission and electricity tax, which you pay to your local network company. Both usually include a basic fee.
Can the transmission fee be put out to tender?
No. Transmission is always handled by the network company of your own area. Only electricity energy can be put out to competitive tender.
